5 Ways That Modern Website Elements that help drive sales

No matter how great your website is, the fact is that technology is constantly changing. If yours hasn’t been updated in the past 2 to 3 years, you’re probably already behind.

The most significant technology trend of today is the rise of mobile marketing. The number of people who use their mobile devices to browse the web is rapidly growing. Therefore, businesses have to ensure that their websites are accessible to mobile users in order to not miss out on that portion of the market.

Besides optimizing your website for mobile use, here are a couple other website elements that you should integrate during your next update:

1 – A content management system (CMS)

CMS has been around for a surprisingly long time. If you do not yet have one integrated into your system, it’s about time. With a CMS, you can update content without having to get in touch with a website developer or have coding skills. You can even modify some design elements with an easy-to-use interface.

The most prevalent CMS of the day is WordPress. It’s open source, so you don’t need to pay anything to be able to use it. That being said, if you do not have any website design experience, we highly recommend that you hire a web designer to get your site off the ground. Other paid platforms – Squarespace, for instance – allows you to do it on your own with easy add-and-drop features, but you’ll probably end up with a rather generic design.

As you decide on a CMS to use, ensure that your website design is as cleaned up and trimmed down as possible so it has a fast site speed. Site speed has become incredibly important for websites because mobile device load times are often relatively long and people lose interest before even seeing the page.

2 – Responsive design

As we already mentioned, mobile use is only growing. Regardless if you choose to integrate a CMS or have a custom website developed for your business, responsive design should definitely be a part. Chances are over half of the visitors entering your site are browsing with mobile devices. If they aren’t offered a pleasant user experience, why would they stay? Minimize drop offs with responsive design.

3 – A blog

A blog may seem like a relatively unimportant website feature, but we assure you that it is incredibly important. It allows you to publish business-relevant content for visitors to read. If your content is high quality and interesting, people will be learning more about your business while recognizing your industry expertise. This will give them the impression that you are reputable and credible, which will increase their inclination to purchase products or services from you.

You can’t expect all these great results with a single blog post. The fact is that business blogs need to be consistently updated. Just as website technology evolves, your industry evolves too. It’s your responsibility to keep up. If you aren’t ready to dedicate to a blog, it would be a better idea to not start one at all. However, you’d have to accept that you are at a disadvantage to competitors who do have a blog. While your competitors are gaining market share, you are losing.

A blog also significantly contributes to your SEO efforts. As you prove yourself to be a high-quality, reputable website, search engine algorithms will rank you higher in results pages, which increases your web traffic.

4 – Social media sharing buttons

Why blog when no one is there to read your content? Another way to increase traffic to your website is by including social media sharing buttons and linking your social media pages to your website. When people run across your content on Facebook or Instagram, they may click through to your website.

For those who visit your website, remember to add social media sharing buttons to your content. That way, when people enjoy your content and want their own social circle to read it, they can easily share it to their own circles, thereby increasing your reach and traffic.

It’s important to remember to not overwhelm your social media pages with content promotions. Make sure that it is high-quality and relevant to the people you are trying to reach. Otherwise, you may just end up annoying them and causing them to leave.

5 – Customized content

Another excellent way to increase your conversion rate is to customize content. Amazon is an excellent example of this. When you browse their offerings, they pick up on what you are interested in and proceed to show you similar content that is more relevant to your needs. It also shows what people with similar preferences and tastes have purchased. Since it’s more relevant and appealing, you are more willing to buy.

This website element may be a little difficult to integrate, but it will definitely yield excellent results.
